A breakup that must have ideas
Make Venezuela Great Again is a civic, political and intellectual initiative that proposes a refoundation of Venezuela. His thesis is based on a specific discomfort: Chavismo led the country to a destruction that requires an exit, but the causes of the deterioration did not begin with its arrival. Oil dependency, statism, partisanship and pay-as-you-go promises must be examined if another repetition is to be avoided.
MVGA proposes to overcome the political cycle of the IV and V republics. It uses these names as references to the system after 1958 and to the Chavista project inaugurated in 1999. The criticism does not erase the differences between governments or deny that there were achievements, freedoms and competition during previous stages. He maintains that their mechanisms of concentration and dependency must be reviewed with the same firmness with which the Chavista capture of power is condemned.
A Venezuelan identity that is studied
Venezuelanness is not limited to a flag, an anthem or nostalgia. It also lives in history, languages, culture, work, institutions and the ability of a society to transmit knowledge. MVGA wants to recover that continuity so that the discussion about the future has roots and demand.
Renny Ottolina, Arturo Uslar Pietri, Carlos Rangel and Óscar Yanes offer different ways of thinking about and communicating the country. Gómez, Pérez Jiménez and Estrada allow us to study state construction, modernization, security and power. The protagonists of independence and the authors of Venezuelan thought expand that conversation. These references are not retroactive members of the movement nor perfect figures: their usefulness lies in the problems that their works and trajectories allow us to understand.
The MVGA library brings together history, profiles, and idea essays. Select content that helps understand a thesis and a period. That selection protects the depth of the library and allows the cover to preserve readings of lasting value.
Autonomy as a measure of reconstruction
MVGA defends freedom, property, initiative, work and merit. Considers that a capable State must guarantee security, justice and common rules, and that its authority must be limited by institutions. Oil income must expand capabilities, instead of making the citizen dependent on a political assignment.
Criticism of the opposition is part of that identity. A force does not offer a sufficient break simply by confronting Chavismo. It must explain what will change in the budget, justice, economy and access to public life. Venezuela does not need to turn every disappointment into a new acronym or every hope into a new leader.
A Sixth Republic as a proposal
The Sixth Republic is the name MVGA gives to a future refoundation. It does not affirm that a new constitution exists today nor does it present a closed government program. It proposes discussing specific mechanisms: limits on the Executive, judicial independence, citizen control of spending, protected property, economic openness and a public service that requires capacity and responsibility.
MVGA expresses support for Trump and Rubio and celebrates the US intervention of January 2026 as a necessary transition. The assessment belongs to the movement. The criterion for success will be the effective recovery of freedom, security, institutions and Venezuelan decision; sympathy for an external actor is no substitute for those results.
This project exists to make that discussion more challenging. Publish sources, identify their opinions and correct errors. The strength of a thesis does not require hiding the limits of the evidence. A republic that seeks to rebuild itself must begin by saying clearly what it proposes and accepting that its proposal be discussed.
