A library to understand Venezuela
MVGA brings together historical essays, profiles, analysis of ideas and opinion. The selection seeks to explain processes and offer references that can be consulted. Opinion pieces identify your position; those of history distinguish documents and interpretation.
The origin of the disaster
Oil state, finances, parties, economic crises and conditions that preceded Chavismo. Reading these processes allows us to discuss the rules that a reconstruction must change.
The voices that warned
Ottolina, Uslar, Rangel, Yanes and the ideas that questioned capabilities, production, political myths and power. Their works are presented in context, without turning them into current adhesions to MVGA.
Venezuela before 1958
Pacification, State, infrastructure, security and political ruptures. The library studies capacities and forms of government to understand what deserves continuity and what controls were missing.
Breakup and refoundation
Rise of Chavismo, criticism of the opposition and proposal for a Sixth Republic. An alternative must explain how it will expand citizen autonomy and limit power.
Opinion and analysis
Sovereignty, international politics and current affairs essays, with information and sources cut. The interpretation is identified and subsequent events are incorporated through dated updates.
